OPEC producer Iran is unlikely to halt oil supplies to world markets in response to mounting Western pressure over its nuclear program, OPEC President Edmund Daukoru told Reuters on Thursday.
The mere threat of a disruption in Iran’s daily sales of 2.4 million barrels has pushed prices toward $70 and is likely to prevent the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries from cutting output when it meets on Tuesday in Vienna.
