Bangkok (ANTARA News) – Retail prices for all types of fuel have risen by Bt 0.40 per litre effective from 05:a.m. on January 11, taking the diesel price to an all-time high.
The rise is attributed to continuously rising prices on the global energy market, where the upward swing is projected to continue.
Manoon Siriwan, Vice President of Bangchak Petroleum Public Company Limited, said here on Tuesday that as a result of the Bt0.40 rise across the board on Wednesday, the prices of premium and regular gasoline become Bt26.84 and Bt26.04 per litre, while those of gasohol at Bt25.34 and diesel at Bt24.29.
This is the highest price ever recorded for diesel in Thailand.
Mr. Manoon said the upward adjustment in Thailand followed recent non-stop climbs in energy prices on the world market, particularly diesel and gasoline due to high demand during winter in the US, Europe and Asia.
