Global Warming is Energy Surplus in a World Primarily in Deficit

Global Warming is Energy Surplus in a World Primarily in Deficit thumbnail

Where demand-pull inflation describes an imbalance in aggregate supply versus aggregate demand.

Where the average inflation rate for July for the G7 countries was 8.4%.

Where Europe and the Asia-Pacific economies face an escalating energy crisis, global warming should be an economist’s dream.

It is a global surplus of heat energy chasing too few ways of either converting the heat of warming into work or for migrating that heat away from the surface.

With the result, the Arctic is warming 4 times faster than the rest of the planet, which caused an albedo decrease that increased radiative heating of  6.4 ± 0.9 W/m2 between1979 and 2011.

In part because the poles cover a third of the surface of the equator, which limits their capacity to radiate heat into space.

But mainly because the heat capacity of the atmosphere is a quarter the heat capacity of the oceans, which have 3,700 times the mass.

Plus, the fact ocean heat is trapped, principally, in the top 100 meters, or about 3% of the ocean’s surface thereby increasing the thermal stratification of the ocean.

Increasing ocean stratification over the past half-century

Which limits the vertical exchanges of heat, carbon, oxygen, and other nutrients vital to life. That when mixed make global warming a nonissue.

Thermal stratification is matter of buoyancy. Hot water rises to the surface, but water isn’t the only medium that moves heat. A heat pipe moves heat through the phase changes of a low-boiling-point working fluid and isn’t affected by gravity so, it can move heat from the surface into deep water.

Per the following, it can also move vapor or in the case of carbon dioxide, a supercritical fluid, through a heat engine to produce work.

The waste heat of these conversions, which in this example is 92.4% of the heat will rise through diffusion back to the surface where it can be recycled.

The oceans cover about 361,000,000 km2  of the Earth’s surface and the tropics, where heat is in surplus, is about 26% of this or about 93,860,000 km2 or  93,860,000,000,000 m2. Resplandy et al. quantified the ocean heat uptake between 1991 and 2016 at 1.29 ± 0.79 × 1022 Joules of heat per year, which is 409 terawatts. Divided by 93,860,000,000,000 m2 is a 4.36 W/m2 surface cooling and effective albedo increase.

Resplandy also estimated that about 28% of atmospheric CO2 was a consequence of the warming of the tropical surface, which is removed by 4.36 W/m2 of surface cooling.

Which also has consequence for sea level rise because thermal expansion of water is dependent on  temperature and pressure per the following.

And heat moved into deep water is unavailable to decrease polar albedo or melt ice.

In a world where energy prices have increased as much as 34.6% in a single year, it is perverse that the conversion of global warming into productive work is discounted 100%. The climate ramifications notwithstanding.

    New book.

    Hothouse Earth: An Inhabitant’s Guide

    Bill McGuire

We inhabit a planet in peril. Our once temperate world is locked on course to become a hothouse entirely of our own making. Hothouse Earth: an Inhabitant’s Guide provides a post-COP26 perspective on the climate emergency, acknowledging that it is now practically impossible to keep this side of the 1.5°C dangerous climate change guardrail. The upshot is that we can no longer dodge the arrival of disastrous, all-pervasive climate breakdown that will come as a hammer blow to global society and economy. Bill McGuire, Professor of Geophysical and Climate Hazards, explains the science behind the climate crisis, painting a blunt but authentic picture of the sort of world our children will grow old in, and our grandchildren grow up in; a world that we catch only glimpses of in today’s blistering heatwaves, calamitous wildfires and ruinous floods and droughts. Bleak though it is, the picture is one we must all face up to, if only to spur genuine action – even at this late stage – to stop a harrowing future becoming a truly cataclysmic one.

Worst melt year on record for Swiss glaciers, data shows

“Swiss glaciers have recorded their worst melt rate since records began more than a century ago, losing 6% of their remaining volume this year or nearly double the previous record of 2003, monitoring body GLAMOS said on Wednesday,

The melt was so extreme this year that bare rock that had remained buried for millenia re-emerged at one site while bodies and even a plane lost elsewhere in the Alps decades ago were recovered. Other small glaciers all but vanished.

“We knew with climate scenarios that this situation would come, at least somewhere in the future,” Matthias Huss, head of the Swiss Glacier Monitoring Network (GLAMOS) told Reuters. “And realising that the future is already right here, right now, this was maybe the most surprising or shocking experience of this summer.”

German glacier melts away amid rising temperatures

Germany lost one of its few remaining glaciers this summer as exceedingly warm weather ate away Alpine ice at a faster pace than feared, a scientific report released today showed.

It said even the thickest spot was now diminished to less than six metres compared to around 10 metres in 2018. The surface area of the glacier halved during the same period to about one hectare.

“That leads us to conclude that the remaining ice will completely melt away in the next one to two years,” the academy said.

It said that the dramatic shrinkage meant that the periodic measurements carried out by the academy since 1892 would now be suspended.

Global heating lays off a few scientists because there is no more ice for them to measure.

Just can’t get away from “record breaking” which really means human breaking – their bodies and infrastructure.

Man dead after record-breaking storm causes flooding in southeastern Spain
Storm hammered Spanish region with lightning, strong winds and record-breaking rain overnight

Spain’s meteorological service AEMET said up to 40.6 mm (1.5 inches) of rain fell in just 10 minutes — the most intense period of precipitation in Murcia since measurements began.

The other record that continually gets broken is the record stupidity of stunned cunt climate change deniers.

Drought prompts Portugal to restrict water use at more hydropower dams

“Heat and little rain have left around 40% of mainland Portugal in extreme drought while the rest of the territory is classed as facing a severe drought, according to the Portuguese Institute of Meteorology (IPMA)… Now, a total of 15 dams across the country [out of a total of 60] have been ordered to temporarily suspend their electricity production.”

Hurricane Ian is going to flood out Florida — and this is a constant climate change problem

Climate change will cause sea levels to rise, exacerbate hurricane damage and in other ways create more floods

Dr. Kevin Trenberth of the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) pointed out by email that “too much rain overwhelms treatment systems and floods them with contaminated water as rainwaters flow over land surface rather than filter through sand and soils.” He added that, in heavily agricultural areas, local contaminants like cattle droppings can also become an issue.

Climate change is expected to cause increased flooding through tropical storms for the foreseeable future, but this anticipated surge in floods will not be limited to hurricane season. After historic flooding occurred at Yellowstone National Park in June, experts pointed out that climate change leads to warmer air that in turn holds more water vapor; which is why climate change leads to more extreme weather events. This means that, even in landlocked areas like the state of Wyoming, one can expect high levels of flooding even where they were never a regular occurrence.

Pacific Northwest heat wave was a freak, 10,000-year event, study finds

“A new study finds the Pacific Northwest’s extreme heat wave last summer was a freak event that should only happen once in 10,000 years and it was even hotter because of climate change.

Records were broken across the region in June of 2021, as temperatures soared as high as 118 degrees Fahrenheit. Portland saw a record high temperature of 116 degrees, while cities including Salem, Hillsboro and the Columbia River Gorge also broke their all-time records. The heat wave, known as a “heat dome” trapped hot air over the region from June 24-29. Hundreds of people died across the Northwest, and at least 96 people died in Oregon, most of whom were home alone and had no air-conditioning units.”

Yes I remember that climate change JACKED heat dome.

For 3rd straight day, B.C. village smashes record for highest Canadian temperature at 49.6 C

“Lytton, B.C., has broken the record for the hottest temperature ever recorded in Canada for a third straight day, hitting a scorching 49.6 C on Tuesday.

The latest record was broken as a historic heat wave continues to scorch Western Canada, leading to a spike in sudden deaths in B.C. and dangerous wildfire conditions.

Lytton, a village in the Fraser Canyon located about 150 kilometres northeast of Vancouver, also saw record-breaking highs of 47.9 C on Monday and 46. 6 C on Sunday. Before this week, the highest temperature ever recorded in Canada was 45 C in Saskatchewan in 1937.”

What happened on the 4th day?

On the 4th day a climate Jacked wildfire burned 90% of the town to ash.

The town erased from the map: Devastating before and after pictures show Lytton after blaze burned 90% of its buildings to the ground after recording Canada’s highest EVER temperature of 121F

All these record smashing disasters were predicted decades ago, only the level of destruction we are suffering now was not supposed to be seen until 2050. Climate change has re-scheduled your lives.
    Buckle up.
